DAY 2 June 20
I started out very early heading down to Point Pelee which is the southern most tip of Canada. Unfortunately i didn't get all the way down because of heavy rain. I did go down the coast of Lake Huron for awhile. There are so many beaches on this coastline mostly with beautiful turquoise waters which I did not get to see Here are a few.
Southhampton beach
Fort Frances is on the border of the USA. Wouldn't want to take a wrong turn!
Around 5:00 pm I was in Boston Pizza and cell phones were all going off with the loud alert. Tornado warning - take shelter. It was freaky but I felt better when I was told the town had an early warning siren system. Sheet lightning and torrential rain but no tornado - there was one touch down an hour away.
Lions Head bay
Manitoulin island in Lake Huron. The largest lake island in the world. If you want to go hiking etc this is the place. Not much else here. As soon as you enter Ontario, there is evidence of the Great Canadian Shield everywhere

Two long days in a row. Did I forget how old I was? LOL. Stopped in Regina for a couple hours which didn't help. I couldn't sleep and went out looking for coffee at 2:30 am. There were no 24 hour places in this small town but a cop did notice me, pulled me over and asked a lot of questions. He didn't believe I was going to Nova Scotia until I showed him my itinerary and reservations. After that we had a good chat!
